Pixelerium really isn’t a big agency with various designers and developers, it’s just me. This is what really helps keep my price well below others. That’s the advantage you’ll have with me.

Now, maybe you’ll ask yourself how is it possible for 1 person to do all the development work? YES. There are open-source web applications called “Content Management System” or CMS. These are web applications that will help you update your website even though you have no programming experience. Normally an application of this magnitude will cost thousands, but because I don’t have to “re-invent-the-wheel” it will take me less time which in turn will cost you less. I’ve posted some questions and answers about Open-Source below:

  • What is open-source?
    It means FREE, open to the public.
  • Why is open-source better?
    It will save you money immediately and in the long run since all the applications are prepackaged with a Content Management System or for short CMS and most of them have big communities offering free support and updates (unless your has special need that will require a paid CMS, we’ll stick to open-source).
  • What’s a CMS?
    OK, to illustrate, if you use gMail, Yahoo or Hotmail for your email and you log-in to edit, write and send emails, then you’ve already experienced what a “content management system” does. However, when applied to a website, it lets you edit, write and submit changes to your site without having to hire any web person to do it for you. Really, the only time you’ll really need to hire a web person is if you decide to add any special feature to your site in the future since that involves programming.
  • How fast is the website completed?
    You’ll be very surprised. Usually with-in a week, if you keep it simple. But if you want customization then it can take a little longer. So basically your needs is what really dictates how long it’ll take me.
